About Sanna

Sanna Lenken, born in Gothenburg, studied film directing at the National Film School, Dramatiska Institutet in Stockholm. She has also studied film at European Film College in Ebeltoft, Denmark, and a master in script­writing at Dramatiska Institutet. Before starting with film she worked in theatre and film with casting and production. Two of her films Valborg and Travemünde Trelleborg at Dramatiska Institutet has been nominated at 1 km film at Stockholm Film Festival and have been screened and won prizes at festivals around the world.

After graduating she directed the youth TV drama Dubbelliv which was screened in two seasons 2010-2012 on Swedish Television. The series was nominated for best drama in Nordic Children Festival and Chicago International Children’s Film Festival. She also made the 30 minutes short film Yoghurt in 2010 which was in competition at the Gothenburg Film Festival and won an honorable mention. Yoghurt was screened on SVT in 2010. Her last short film Äta lunch (Eating lunch) has been in competition in Gothenburg, Berlin and Tribeca and was nominated for a Guldbagge Award.

Her debut film My Skinny Sister premiered at Göteborg International Film Festival and had its international premiere at Berlinale.
